We won’t brainwash you, but finally finding people who understand the way you think really can feel like living on the fringes of society. 2024 is the year Autism Talks was born. It’s grown into a home away from home. Somewhere we laugh together, cry together, and honestly? Just breathe.
When we get together each month and shut the outside world behind us, we get to shed the skin telling us who to be, how to talk, and how to navigate an environment that sometimes makes no sense. Our purpose is to remind you that neurodiversity is normal, we’re just outnumbered.
CLUB RULES
MISSION
Very few things are set in stone around here. The important stuff is decided as a group. How much noise is okay? Lights on or shades open? How’s the temp? Too hot, too cold, or just right? And we’re not afraid to tell Karen that perfume is just not it.
Each month the group is different. Sometimes it’s lighthearted and sometimes we get into tough topics relating to our current struggles. So what we ask is that you respect our space as much as we will respect you. The obvious baneed: No bullying, no weapons, no alcohol.
And regarding typicals: I’m sorry, but no. Your grandma can’t come with you.
